A. Use your favorite drawing tool (e.g. Powerpoint) to create image

  1. In PPT, first use Setup Page dialog to specify poster size in inches (e.g. 34x44 for ASHG format)
  2. After editing, save as PDF

B. Create PNG file using your favorite image processing tool (e.g. Preview on Mac):

  1. Inspect image
  2. For portrait mode, rotate PDF 90%
  3. Save as PNG, 300DPI
  4. Check PNG image resolution -- should be something like 10K x 13K for ASHG size.

C. Check file size -- not too small (e.g. 1M) or too big (must be smaller than 40M). For above size poster, mine was 13M.

D. At spoonflower.com:

  1. Create account
  2. From Create menu, select 'Custom Fabric'
  3. Choose file and upload (may take a few minutes)
  4. Select 'Center' layout, set DPI to 300
  5. Check measurements and layout in screen display, then 'Save Layout' (make take a few minutes)
  6. Choose 'Performance knit' fabric, and 'Yards'
  7. Add to cart and checkout

Your poster will arrive in a padded envelope. Mine came FedEx.
