To have a new genome assembly hosted by genome browsers such as UCSC or Ensembl, you must first register your sequencing project at NCBI and deposit your sequence in GenBank following their procedures. When the assembly shows up in the NCBI FTP download directories, we will consider it for admission to the Genome Browser. Due to funding limitations, UCSC is able to accommodate only certain assembly requests. Our primary focus is on vertebrate genomes that will contribute to our exploration and analysis of the human genome.
