To have a new genome assembly hosted by genome browsers such as [http://genome.ucsc.edu/ UCSC] or [http://www.ensembl.org/ Ensembl], you must first register your sequencing project at NCBI and deposit your sequence in GenBank following their procedures. When the assembly shows up in the [ftp://ftp.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/genbank/genomes/Eukaryotes/ NCBI FTP] download directories, we will consider it for admission to the Genome Browser. Due to funding limitations, UCSC is unable to accommodate every request for new assemblies.
