I received my Bachelor degree in Medical Science (BMedSc) from the Medical School, University of Birmingham, UK in 2001 and a Ph.D in Clinical Genetics from the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics, University of Birmingham. This was followed by an MRC Career Development Fellowship (2005-2007) at the MRC Protein Phophorylation Unit, University of Dundee, with the world renowned biochemist Professor Sir Philip Cohen. Following this I returned to The University of Birmingham to continue post-doctural research (2007-2009). Currently I hold the position of Team Leader of the Molecular and Cellular Oncology Laboratory, Adult Cancer Program, Lowy Cancer Research Centre, UNSW and Lecturer at UNSW.
