My background is in hematopoiesis, and molecular biology including mouse modeling of hematopoiesis. In my previous work I have studied the function of the ETO homologues involvement in normal and malignant hematopoiesis. We found that the ETO homologues potentially have different roles in hematopoiesis, where they seemed to be involved in regulating progenitor maintenance and lineage differentiation. Despite a physical interaction, the co-repressors N-CoR and hSIN3B did not augment ETO homologue mediated repression. Collectively, our data suggest that the ETO homologues may have differential roles in the regulation of hematopoietic differentiation. Presently, I am working on deciphering the transcriptional pathways of the repressor Growth factor independent-1 (Gfi1) and HoxA9.
