POSSITION Postdocoral Researcher. Department of Nephrology and Hypertension. UMC Utrecth. PROFESSIONAL AND RESEARCH ACTIVITY Most of my research activity has been performed in Pharmacology (3209, Unesco Code), specifically in the fields of Experimental Pharmacology (3209.90) and Natural Medicines (3209.04). My research has been focused on the subjects of endothelial dysfunction due to oxidative stress, its relationship with hypertension, the physiological alterations produced, mainly in the vascular wall and target organs such as heart and kidneys and the study of natural or synthetic drugs able to prevent or revert these changes, as polyphenols and, in recent times, PPAR agonists. Since March 2011 I am working as PostDoc researcher in Dr. Joles’ group at the Universitair Medisch Center (UMC) Utrecht, with a grant of the Ministry of Education of Spain, so currently I am focused on the prevention of hypertension and associated kidney disease with perinatal treatments through the “Reprogramming” of the kidney in the context of the DOHaD hypothesys.
