mm9 chr6:115,875,041-115,895,752  'mm9-10189'  created: Kpmitton 01:26, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

The Rhodopsin gene region, a fundamental marker gene for rod-photoreceptor specific gene expression. In the mouse this gene is silent until day P4-P5. RNA-polymerase-II is absent from the gene's transcriptional region at P2 and fully engaged by P25. First available maps of RNA-Polymerase-II binding in a mammalian neural retina comparing mouse P2 to P25 (the period of photoreceptor maturation) are available for survey in the genome browser. Temporal ChIP-on-Chip of RNA-Polymerase-II to detect novel gene activation events during photoreceptor maturation. (2010) Padmaja Tummala, Raghuveer S. Mali, Eduardo Guzman, Xiao Zhang, Kenneth P.
