To apply computational methods, utilizing large scale quantitative information, whether transcriptomic, proteomic, or metabolomic, that enable the elucidation of signal transduction networks and responses to stress including inflammatory and disease stress. The ultimate objective is to find those biochemical molecules that when eliminated improve either the phenotype or the health of the plant or patient in response to those stressors. This work area is translational research, shortening the time from bench to bedside or bench to field. These computational methods can be universally applied from mammalian to botanical species.
