User:Daniel Weeks

The Weeks lab has a long-standing interest in understanding genes that ensure normal development using Xenopus embryos. We currently are investigating genes linked to congenital heart and hearing defects in humans. We have an ongoing interest in the design and synthesis of chemically modified oligonucleotides to alter protein and gene expression, and in developing new methods to take advantage of the Xenopus model system. Our newest efforts to understand ear development are focused on the genes linked to Branchio-oto-renal syndrome and the regulation of micro RNAs. We are active in local, national and international collaborations.
