I had a dream in my middle school years to reveal the secrete of life science using power of computers. Because of the dream, I selected computer science as my major when I entered Tsinghua University. I studied computer science and artificial intelligence for 10 years, and finally earned my PhD degree there.

Soon after my graduation I came to Yale as a postdoctoral researcher, started to learn molecular biology and conducted bioinformatic research.

Five years later, I have become an experienced bioinformatics researcher and joined a public health lab as an associate research scientist, specialized at genome-wide association study (GWAS) and personalized medicine. We used high-throughput technology to study individual genetic variations that can be used in disease treatment and drug development.

After three years, I joined current neurobiology lab to research on human brain using high throughput sequencing approaches, with the purpose of revealing the molecular mechanism of brain development and intelligence evolution, identifying genetic and epigenetic markers related with mental disorders, and finding more effective treatment for the diseases.
